Welcome to the website for the Sycamore Bands of Indiana State University! Each and every one of our ensembles is open to ALL students on campus, regardless of major. Some groups (Wind Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Marching Sycamores Percussion, Sycamore Color Guard) require an audition, while others are open to all with only modest requirements (Marching Sycamores woodwinds and brass, Sycamore Basketball Band, Concert Band).
It is our goal to be as inclusive as possible. If you miss playing your instrument (or spinning a flag), we can find an ensemble that will fit your ability level and motivation. You do not have to be a music major in order to participate. In the past, our ensembles have been represented by majors from all across campus, including (to mention only a few) Athletic Training, Biology, Business, Chemistry, Communications, English, History, Marketing, Mathematics, Philosophy, Political Science, Pre-Law, Pre-Med, Psychology, Special Education, and many, many more!
See below for the latest news about the band program, as well as our upcoming events. Please use the links in the header above to navigate our website. You can contact us via social media (upper left hand corner and in the footer) or via our Contact Form below.
