WIND SYMPHONY
The Wind Symphony is open to all students, major or non-major, via auditions (which take place during the first week of classes). It is dedicated to performing the best of traditional and contemporary wind band literature, and typically performs two concerts per semester in Tilson Music Hall. Occasionally, the Wind Symphony may engage in regional tours, side-by-side concerts, and other special events such as commencement, the Indiana All-Star Band, and the Contemporary Music Festival, amongst others. The Wind Symphony's mission is to stimulate musical growth and provide advanced performance opportunities for the University's instrumental music students. Performance goals encompass the identification, performance, and appreciation of the best of wind and percussion literature. The Wind Symphony is conducted by Dr. Nikk Pilato. |
